The train ride from Barcelona was beautiful. There were hills, bridges, fields and water outside the window. Nothing over the top but sure there were some nice views. It took me about 4h to reach Valencia and I was surprised the train ticket wasn’t that cheap. There seem to be different prices depending on where you buy the ticket from and at what time. I was also surprised that I had to pass through security to get to the train platform in Barcelona.
On the map it looked like the place where I was going to stay in Valencia, would be about one kilometer away from the train station. I was hoping it could be a nice walk, but when I arrived in Valencia it didn’t look like it was going to be any nice walk. It was big roads with fast traffic everywhere. So I took a taxi and dropped off my bag before I went for a grand walk through the city. A walk which took the whole evening (included dinner).

It was dark now and I was walking around to get a sense for the geographic and to scout for spots which might be good to film with the drone in daylight the following day. There were a park with a funny shape but mostly big roads and huge roundabouts. I thought it could be cool to film a huge roundabout from above and play it fast to see the traffic spinning through quickly for a second. After a while I reached a huge beach which was about 200m wide and could be nice to film from above to see people walking around like ants. On my way back I walked over a big and tall bridge with some buildings of strange modern architecture next to it. So I had three spots which I was going to film the following day, which I did. Another grand walked followed in day light, where I stopped to film these spots from the air. It was a bit windy and difficult to fly, but I thought I got some nice footage. Until I got back to check it and got to know that all of it was unfortunately unplayable and just corrupt files. I wonder if it has anything to do with the crash I had last week. I have to get that looked up.

Valencia was a bigger city then I thought. Almost as big as Barcelona I would guess. But not as rich and famous. More of an ordinary old city that now lives in the shadow of Barcelona. There was something about Valencia which reminded me a little bit of Copenhagen somehow. It must have been some kind of a raw feeling which they have in common.
