Arriving for my home visit

Sweden – A visit home again. I arrived back in Sweden for a visit, where I at first stayed in Stockholm for a week and kept a low profile due to the covid situation. I wanted to see if I was still healthy after being on an airplane. Then I went to visit my friends and family back where I come from. Had a BBQ and a crayfish party. I did a few matters which might be suitable to do while back. Getting a new driving license etc. But to be honest it always feels mostly like running through the first level on a video game again, just to get it over with. I did spend some time at home working with some video editing. So there was at least some creative activity. And I did visit my friend Ante and we were playing music in his barn and recording it. We tryed to make a track but we didn’t manage to make anything good there. But I have the project saved. Maybe I will try to work something out of it later again anyway.

Selling my camper van and traveling again

One good thing that I did during my “Sweden – A visit home again”, was to sell my old camper van to a friend of mine. We took it out for a bit of a camping one night. I should write an article about my camper van and the summer I spent in it around in the north part of Sweden a couple of years ago. My plan was to fly over to Iceland after I been to Sweden this time, to film some beautiful landscapes there. But just before I was about to travel I read that they had changed the regulations due to covid-19 since it is school start time, I suppose. Meaning that people arriving to Iceland have to stay in quarantine for 5 days. And I don’t feel like I want that right now, so I flew to Spain with the intention to go further to Portugal instead when I was done with my “Sweden – A visit home again” for this time.

The covid-19 situation in Sweden

I wasn’t planning to ever write anything about covid-19. But here is a small note for anyone who wonders. Sweden did not have a lock down during corona. We didn’t have as much of a hard hit of it as most other countries had. A lot of people stayed at home anyway. Many were able to work from home or from their holiday house. There hasn’t even been any requrement for wearing mask. But the social distancing seems to have been taken more seriously. That is probably a precaution which is more easy to apply there. I believe it comes more naturally to do so here. It is almost a part of the culture in this cold country. Which is an advantage in this case, but not normally. The swedes like their space.

For anyone who is still traveling at all, I would like to remind about the importance of checking the latest updated regulations for your destination as late as possible before you travel. Any country seem to be able to change any rules with short notice still. If you are planning to travel to Sweden you can read about the current situation on the website following this link below.
