Trees in green – A painting

The photo

This is a painting I made when I lived in Malmö, Sweden. I was walking across a cemetery in daylight. It was summer and the leaves were green. It was an alley of trees on each side of the walk path, where the trees were meeting above the path to cover the sky. I paused and behold before taking up my phone to click a picture. It was beautiful. I believe that most things gets better with a touch. I am not the #nofilter kind of guy. Try to watch a video with just raw footage and compare it to a color graded video. I added another filter to it on Instagram. And another one, until it didn’t look much like the trees in reality any more. But it was beautiful. The photo looked like this.

The painting

Trees in green – A painting. Then some time later I decided to see how it would turn the image if I painted it in acrylic on a canvas. It looked nothing like the photo, which looked nothing like reality. Even this being years ago by now, I don’t think I was particularly satisfied with it. But I covered a layer of paint on a canvas at least, and it turned out like this. I think it looks like crap and it symbolizes an act of emotions where you have no idea of how to capture what you need. Wanting but not be able to. Maybe I should have tried with oil. Hilarious!
