Floating on about the clearest water I have ever seen, I moved down to Saudi Arabia with a boat. I am not saying exactly where, or why, or with what boat. I can’t really say much about what I am actually doing. That sounds exciting and entertaining, doesn’t it? But after been spending a few weeks in Egypt before I came here, I am slowly starting to get a picture of how it is like to be in this part of the world. This is the first time ever that I am visiting any of the countries here in the middle east, or the “Arab world” which I so jokingly called it to my friends by the time I left Sweden.

Hearing the prayer  through lo-fi speakers  over the landscape brings me an exotic feeling which I often enjoy because of  such a complete strange tone structure. I got used to it when living next to a mosque in India for a couple of months. I actually recorded it and included it in a music track that I’ve made. I will upload it on Soundcloud at some point.

The sun is much stronger down here in the Arab World compared to back home. Who could have guessed that? And it matches the hierarchy. There is also a lot of sand here. That is probably why the world map have a more yellowish/beige tune for this area. I wasn’t actually that surprised. I have seen on TV how it is down here. So no need to go here and experience it yourself if you also have seen it on tv (that was just another bad joke). They are showing a lot of footage of dry landscapes and baking sun. But mostly from news about war and misery. Maybe not from Saudi though, perhaps just some incidents. It seems to be a quite well developed and rich country, at a first glance. They say it is a high tech area. But what do I know. I haven’t seen that much about war and devastation from anywhere on TV lately by the way. Maybe it is peace on earth by now then. I think it’s mentioned somewhere in an old book that it would be so by now. But maybe it is because I don’t watch TV that much. I like the delusion.

Along the coast here is a lot of nice islands and also a lot of beautiful coral reaves with interesting things to view in the water. It is meant to be good for diving. Lots of sharks, so be careful. I also like the language down here. Particularly in writing. It looks beautiful… yeah, definitely in writing… not so much verbally. Speaking of writing. Now you can download the little easy read I wrote about traveling for FREE, on this website. ‘How to travel’, a little ebook I’ve made. You’ll find it in the menu ‘Writing’. Click on the little downloadable file right under the button with the title on, which will take you to the kindle version.
