Spain – The Mediterranean Coast Line (a video)

Making this video

I am not exactly a FPV pilot or nowhere near having basically any flying skills worth mentioning. But having had my drone (DJI Mavic Air) with me when traveling the mediterranean coast line of Spain. And once in a while been launching it to shoot some footage ended up being this video. Basically, I am just still very fascinated by drone footage in general. Well, more and more all kinds of footage actually. As time passes and I learn more, my interest in videography grows. Maybe because I haven’t spent that much time working with videos yet.

What was difficult with makinng this video

I have still a lot to learn in the editing program I am using (Final Cut Pro X). For example there was an issue with a manual installation of a stabilization plugin. Which means the video is still shaky at a few places. I had some bad luck with the technology, with other words. Hopefully I will soon find a way to stabilize those parts of the video. Finally I decided to upload it just as it is, because I have tried a few different ways and it is just uninspiring to see how it hardly helps.

What cought my interest mostly in the editing process this time

This time I have been enjoying a lot to be playing with different playback speeds in the editing. First hurry up the footage, then cut and change back the speed to slow. Not necessarily slow motion, but it feels that way in comparison. It becomes an effect that mimics slow motion pictures even if it actually is faster than original speed. Apart from that I have just been playing around with transitions and practicing manual color grading and so on. By the way there is one section in the video where I filmed myself because I came up with this idea which I wanted to try. I didn’t have anyone around to help me with this so I just had to film myself like this. Here is the video anyway.
