This is how was making a new cover picture for the about page on this website.

The plan was initially to download photoshop and start practice for learning. But it didn’t work out due to technical problems (the website didn’t want). But the urge to play around with editing pictures had already started. Some free sample images were downloaded and the app Enlight was the savior this time.

What happened while making a new cover picture for the about page on this website, was that a few images was imported to the app Enlight on the iPhone. One was a map of the world. Another one was a computer designed graphic image of a globe which some dispersion-effect was added to. One image was depicting of some Japanese origami folding art pattern, another one a sunset over some mountain landscape. One was of a girl covered in rose leaves and an other one was an image of a table top with a pair of headphones and some flowers on top, taken from above. Plus one which was just a random shape basically. These were free sample pictures which I got via a stock photography website.

By placing the images out in different sizes on a canvas, then applying different kinds of transparency to them. Then arranging the location in between the images to make them fit to the edges and lines of each other and also fill in the empty spaces in a pleasant way. It could quick and easy become an experimental abstract piece of digital art montage. Of course I had the move them around a little bit and make some changes for improvements after been looking at it for a while, to make it fit better. In this case mostly depending on the sort of transparency effect that was added to each one. Then I exported the project as .jpg and uploaded it as a cover picture on the front page of this site.

The light blue gradient is still there on top.

The frustration came when it turned out not being possible to have the size of the image correspond to the size of the background section. So now there is three of them.

Making montages out of digital pictures like this was quite fun and a rather quick and easy way to achieve unique and satisfying creative expression. Who knows. Maybe there will be an entire page on this website with images like this one.

When it comes to images, it have so far only been the physical paintings that got uploaded to this website. Here is a link to where they are to be found.
