Leaving the white coast of Spain, flying in to the land of flowers was a great reconciliation, considering that I love this country but last time I was in Holland I felt like not coming back. That was in Amsterdam with its massive tourism for all the bullshit. I have been in Holland before, surly about ten times. So I believe I should write a proper travel article about this country at some point. But most of the times was from when I was working on tanker ships and sort of could go ashore for a while but had to be ready to get back to work at any time.

This time I flew in to the airport of Amsterdam, Schipol. Only to take the train straight to Rotterdam. Which only takes about half an hour, even though both Amsterdam and Rotterdam are two rather large cities. I love the feeling of how well organized, structured, clean and functioning everything is in this country. The infrastructure for example. But I guess that comes with that the whole country is pretty much artificial and it is not that much space here. Basically the whole country is below sea level and it is the most densely populated country in Europe with all its artificial ponds, islands and constant construction in progress everywhere.

Many times during my travels throughout the years I have ended up in company of Dutch people. And many times I have really connected well with them. I guess the general mentality of the people from here is very similar to the people from the country where I come from. But I must say that the Dutch are more layed back and understanding. You can tell them the most insane story and they would just soberly smile and be jamming with their heads.

Anyways, I had a blast here. It was casual. Nice hotel. I saw some snow, which was long ago (that only stayed for a few hours though). I hung out here in Holland for a few days, then I decided to fly across the world again. See you on the other side.
