With a four hour ferry ride from Palma de Mallorca I got to Ibiza Town (Eivissa). I had booked a room in an apartment through Airbnb, which looked promising on the pictures. It was a 15 min walk from the ferry and the apartment were located right between the town center and the ferry terminal.

When I got there I was greeted and shown around by a cool guy from Switzerland who lived on the island for many years. He told me that in the summer time it is like a constant parade of people passing by on the streets below and nearby.

Ibiza is a party island and the venues and night clubs are hosting great, famous artists and DJ’s from all over the world. But this time of the year it is all very quite and the night clubs are closed. I only had to pay 20 Euro a night for my room and we are only two people in this apartment with three double rooms. In the summer time they charge 10 times the price and I suppose it is not just two people staying here, but rather fully booked.

The pictures on Airbnb was definitely giving the apartment justice and I liked the place so much that I unpacked my bag a little bit and decided to stay for a week. The weather is great with 20 degrees and sunshine all day. Still I’d be happy to spend most of my time in the apartment or on the balcony with a nice cup of coffee, working on some articles which I will be posting on this website later.

In the evenings I go out for a walk and grab some dinner. It is still some people in town like in any other town, it is just not any tourists. The evenings are a little bit colder this time of the year. You should wear a jumper or a jacket and the sun goes down around 7pm but it’s not really cold (maybe 10 plus).

I don’t know for how long I will be on Ibiza. Maybe I’ll rent a car to drive around on the island to take some photos and do some filming in a few days. Maybe I move to another place on the island after this week, but I doubt I will find a better apartment to stay in.
